Having shared the stage with many Quebecois and international artists, Virginie Hamel is very active in Quebec’s world of jazz, in addition to performing throughout the province.
Virginie reinterprets the standards of the jazz and bossa nova repertoires with a personal and meticulous esthetic: her sense of refined interpretation, sustained by her unique, velvety voice, communicates the essence of the musical pieces that we find pleasure in rediscovering.
Vincent Gagnon has worked with Virginie since 2002. Gagnon draws on her delicate and refined vocal style to create a musical atmosphere in which the melodies take the foreground. The end result is music as profound as it is accessible, to the delight of neophytes and purists alike.
